The pink console is part of a bigger ongoing romance and gravity collection. Here the designer continues research of material and decor meaning in contemporary design. Inspired by the complex aesthetics of the rococo period, in “Romance gravity” Gečas is exploring how historical decor correlates with contemporary materials like glass fiber and aluminum and decor features as a structural system for complex shapes. 

In 2018 during their residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, the contextual design duo of Marija Puipaitė & Vytautas Gečas began artistic research into the decor. Taking as their point of reference the idea that the Baroque epoch at its outset they linked it to the depreciation of decor in our everyday environment.
