Hatch is a cabinet inspired by architecture and the aesthetics of mass-produced building materials. Standard shapes, textures and patterns that are normally not considered beautiful and are often hidden behind finishing layers are the protagonists of this storage unit. Bringing these elements into an intimate living environment shifts the perspective and reveals their inherent beauty as well as assigns them new values and meanings.
SAMPLING
Sampling is an architecture and design practice founded in 2010 by Manten Devriendt and Liene Jākobsone. Their work combines design, architecture and landscape design, with a focus on the relationship between the user, the space, and the materiality affecting the perception of the built environment.
