The design of the lamp is made that way to be accepted by the general rules of postal shipping companies. The outer layer of the lamp would resemble a cardboard shipping box - so that the lamp itself would be the packaging and the lampshade itself. By travelling unpacked and looking like a shipping box it stays visible.
MARTYNAS KAZIMIERĖNAS
Martynas Kazimierėnas is a designer and the artistic director of the March design studio, who lives and works in Vilnius. His creative practice probes the materiality of things and the origin of their function, using the motifs and forms of the great outdoors. Martynas employs unconventional methods of production, dismantling and altering the process of making objects. The works of his studio are presented at major design fairs in New York, Paris, Frankfurt, and Tokyo. He is a member of the Lithuanian Design Forum.
