We already know what we will eat in the future - insects. In this case, we know even more specifically that it will be cricket. But why, even knowing this, do we avoid them? For almost 2 billion people on earth, eating insects is normal practice, it doesn’t cause them emotion but why does this still cause disgust for Europeans?

“The formation of the surrounding environment, including the material environment, was partly driven by our fear or desire to feel secure. Security is one of the basic needs of our society. This theme influences my work. Most of the inspiration comes from exactly that.”

Project Amber Lollipop was developed during designers’ studies at Vilnius Academy of Arts and this project is somewhat unusual in the background of her other works. For “Amber Lollipop”, Lašaitė focused on the questions about the future of foods, which often arise at home and of course in society.
